Land defence

Artillery

Aubert & Duval supplies forged parts for medium and large calibre weapons and a wide range of blank guns that are thermically treated to prevent their deformation during machining and shooting.

Our offer

  • Towed field guns: 105-155 mm
  • Tank guns: 90-140 mm
  • Self-propelled howitzers: 155 mm
  • Mortars: 60-120 mm
  • Forged parts (rings and breechblocks, etc.)
  • Forged and rolled bars from 20-40 mm in diameter for the guns on armoured land vehicles

Aubert & Duval has developed specific grades for applications that are proven in combat in several defence programmes.
Among these, the CLARM® grades offer unique properties that allow:

  • a reduced thickness for weight reduction,
  • an increase in the lifespan of systems and their maximum range,
  • a reduction in costs (maintenance and logistics) on the battlefield,
  • better resistance to higher pressures for a maximum range that is increased even further.
Armoured vehicles

Aubert & Duval designs and produces structural parts and parts intended to reinforce the critical zones of armoured vehicles.

Our offer

  • Titanium shield plates and solutions
  • Bars and blocks in special steels, superalloys, aluminium alloys and titanium alloys
Firearms
  • Mag 58 machine gun, french army

Aubert & Duval offers martensitic steel grades in the form of steel bars that give the best compromise between high resistance and market toughness, such as

  •  GKH® (32CrMoV12) thermically treated steel that offers exceptional ductility and toughness thanks to its uniform microstructure,
  • APX®4 (martensitic stainless steel) that resists corrosion without needing a specific protection,
  • ARMAD® steel (martensitic CrMoV steel grades) developed specifically to meet the restrictions in terms of resistance to wear, high temperatures and pressure generated by the latest-generation ammunition.

The result of Aubert & Duval’s high-tech manufacturing process, GKH®, ARMAD® and APX®4 offer a symmetrical structure that gives the material identical tensile, ductility and toughness properties.
These grades can be used with the cut rifling, button rifling or cold hammer forging processes.

Missiles
  • The missiles are aimed to the sky at sunset. Nuclear bomb, chemical weapons, missile defense, a system of salvo fire.

Thanks to its expertise, Aubert & Duval develops and produces a wide range of high performance alloys along which are precipitation hardened steels.
Meeting the requirements of structural parts for missiles, such as the bodywork, frames and suspensions, they present numerous key benefits: :

  • high static and fatigue properties,
  • better combination of high resistance and high durability (even at low temperatures),
  • high performances in terms of corrosion cracking under stress,
  • suitable for welding and flowturning.
