Product safety

The parts, and more specifically the critical parts, designed and produced by Aubert & Duval are often intended for applications that involve human lives. This is why, above and beyond guaranteeing their conformity and compliance with the strictest safety standards, Aubert & Duval are duty bound as expert metallurgists to make their customers and employees aware of their optimum use.

The creation of an internal SMS Centre

In order to guarantee zero accidents, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has created a new requirement called the Safety Management System (SMS), which is based on four approaches, namely: Safety Policy, Safety Assurance, Safety Risk Management and Safety Promotion.

Our customers impose some of these regulations on us. Due to the nature of our products, we wanted to go beyond their requirements to satisfy them even better.

  • Safety Policy: Management’s commitment is reflected in the quality policy
  • Safety Assurance: we defined the indicators to be monitored and the continuous improvement approach
  • Safety Risk Management: we map the risks associated with product use
  • Safety Promotion: we have set up SMS Centres at each production site with the aim of engaging employees by raising their awareness of safety risks and the critical nature of the parts manufactured

This allows for promoting discussions and field feedback in a “fair and impartial” environment.

The objective is to train all our employees by the end of 2026 (1,000 people trained by 2024).
